Bauhinia Camerata

From experience abroad,

a commitment to home.

Having spent nearly a decade studying and working in New York, and performing with musicians across the United States, Europe and Asia, I have often thought about how the experience we gain abroad can contribute meaningfully to Hong Kong's cultural life.

Alvin Ho and I co-founded Bauhinia Camerata to bring together outstanding Hong Kong musicians working locally and internationally—not simply to return and perform, but to share what we have learned, build new artistic relationships and create something lasting at home.

Beginning with our inaugural professional orchestra project in 2027, we hope the Camerata will grow into a broader artistic platform. Our planned Academy and Fellowship programmes are central to that vision, connecting younger musicians and emerging professionals with internationally active artists through mentorship, career development and performance opportunities.

We have both benefited enormously from teachers, colleagues and institutions that opened doors for us. As our own careers develop, we want to help create similar pathways for the generation that follows—so that international experience returns to Hong Kong, takes root, and contributes to the city's musical future.
